After breakfast, your driver picks you up from your riad or hotel in Marrakech. We start our journey across the beautiful High Atlas Mountains, passing through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. The road is full of panoramic views, Berber villages, and valleys. Our first stop is the UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, famous for its ancient architecture and Hollywood movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. You’ll have time to walk through the narrow paths and take photos. Then we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gate of the Desert.” Overnight stay in Ouarzazate with dinner and breakfast.
Today, we visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the film studios of Ouarzazate before driving to Skoura Oasis, where beautiful palm trees and old kasbahs stand between green fields. Then, we pass through Kelaat M’Gouna, the town of roses, where local women make rose water and natural perfumes. We continue our way to Dades Valley, known for its red rocks and deep gorges. You will explore the area, enjoy the mountain views, and spend the night in a local riad with dinner included.
After breakfast, the adventure continues to the amazing Todra Gorge, a natural canyon with high red cliffs and a small river below. It’s a perfect place for a short walk and photos. Later, we drive through Erfoud, famous for fossils, and reach Merzouga — the gateway to the Sahara Desert. In the afternoon, your camels will be ready to take you through the dunes for an unforgettable ride during the sunset. You’ll arrive at your desert camp, enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner, listen to Berber music around the campfire, and sleep under a million stars.
Today is all about discovering life in the desert. After breakfast, we visit Khamlia village, where local people play traditional Gnawa music. You’ll also visit nomad families who live in tents and learn about their simple lifestyle. We then visit an old mine area, the seasonal lake of Merzouga (if it’s not dry), and enjoy a relaxing lunch. Later, return to your hotel in Merzouga to rest or watch the sunset from the dunes. Dinner and overnight in a local desert hotel.
After breakfast, we drive through the Ziz Valley with its long palm groves and beautiful views of the desert mountains. It’s a great place to take pictures and see small Berber villages. We continue our way to Midelt, a calm town between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains. You can relax in your hotel, enjoy dinner, and get ready for the final leg of the journey.
On the last day, we drive through the cedar forest of Azrou, where you can see wild monkeys and enjoy nature. Then we stop in Ifrane, a modern and clean city known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its European style and cold weather. We continue to Fes, arriving in the afternoon. Drop off at your riad or hotel, marking the end of your 6 Days Morocco Desert Tour from Marrakech to Fes. You’ll carry with you the best memories of Morocco — its culture, landscapes, and kind people.
